The Challenge: Plot a new interpretive course for a historic Dutch-American farmhouse museum in Brooklyn.
The Solution: Work in partnership with a NYC architect to develop a strategic plan that repositions the museum as a site for environmental history interpretation.
The Outcome: Lefferts Historic House becomes the first NYC Historic House Trust property to embrace environmental history as its interpretive paradigm.
Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum, Chittenango, NY
The Challenge: Assist an ambitious all-volunteer museum to expand the scope of its site interpretation.
The Solution: With support from a “Get Set” grant from Museumwise, conduct a strategic planning process with museum volunteers and stakeholders.
The Outcome: Chittenango Landing dramatically improves its visitor experience by systematically developing new story lines and reinterpreting some existing site features.
