Seeing the big picture and getting the details right and are two contrasting sides of responsible project management. I do both for the projects entrusted to my care by museums, foundations, and other non-profits.
Sample Projects
Osprey Foundation, Baltimore, MD
The Challenge: Help a family foundation that focuses on water as human rights issue develop a new philanthropic initiative in the Middle East.
The Solution: Identify potential NGO partners; manage information flow between NGOs and the foundation; make on-site visits to survey project sites and nurture personal relationships with grantees.
The Outcome: A successful ongoing program that funds regional water projects through both Palestinian and Israeli NGOs.
Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY
The Challenge: A Rochester, NY art museum seeks to revamp exhibits of its permanent collections.
The Solution: Work in partnership with art museum staff to help guide and monitor the development of new art exhibits and interactive experiences.
The Outcome: Successful launch of the Helen Berkeley Gallery of Ancient Art in 2009; opening of “Renaissance Remix” in the Dorothy McBride Gill Discovery Center in 2012.
